End The Dreaded The 4-Hour Service Window

There’s a unique sense of dread we all get even with the most mundane household chores. It may be that the internet goes out or the ice machine inside the refrigerator needs to be replaced. The reality is that the repair may only take 15 minutes to complete, and yet it can feel entirely overwhelming in the moment. Why is that?

To fix your internet, you’ll likely have to set aside an entire afternoon waiting inside the infamous four-hour window for the technician to arrive, without any notice about their current location or delays. You don’t dare risk going to the store across the street as you know without fail this will be the exact moment the technician arrives. And even if it all goes to plan and the technician arrives on time, there’s still the chance they won’t have the right parts to get the job done and will need to come back.

For years, we have accepted this type of service even as other industries out-innovate. For example, we can know exactly when the rideshare driver will arrive, and receive real-time updates on our dinner delivery from computer engineering careers. With consumers expecting this level of transparency from businesses, companies who provide service in the field must rethink operations to improve the customer experience.

Building plan telecom terms

Developers building housing complexes, commercial buildings and offices in New Town have to provide details in building plans about space allotted to set up telecom and Internet infrastructure, an official of the New Town Kolkata Development Authority said.

Builders have to specify where they want to keep space for mobile phone towers and power generating units, among others, in their building plans, the official said.

This has been done as several communities in the township’s three action areas have reported low network areas or shadow areas. problem is not limited not only to New Town. Several Calcuttans face the problem of sketchy network and low data speed.

Several residents and housing communities across the city have fixed repeater access points and network boosters haphazardly in empty places without any prior planning, the what is the difference between computer science and computer engineering official said. These boosters are often installed illegally, the official said. “Most residents who don’t get proper network coverage are using boosters… they buy them themselves or ask local technicians to do so. These devices are not fixed by service providers.”

Aviation Week Network's 2020 Workforce Survey Identifies Trends in Technological Challenges

Aviation Week Network today announces the 2020 Workforce Study findings, coming at the height of change and transformation across the industry brought about by business and health challenges. The 2020 study looked at critical areas within this context — reskilling and continuous learning for employees, the changing dynamics of the workplace, and how to maintain stability in the face of dynamic market changes.

Aviation Week Network collaborated with computer science and engineering, the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) on the annual study.

“The current environment is truly a unique point in the history of this industry,” said Greg Hamilton, president of Aviation Week Network. “The industry had to trim jobs to handle the Covid-19 pandemic and reduction in build rates for commercial aircraft while ensuring that employees considered essential to national defense and security could safely and efficiently maintain productivity rates.”

Among the findings for this year’s study is that more than 72,000 people were hired by the industry in 2019, offset by layoffs in 2020 that totaled 113,000 by mid-year. Originally, the numbers for hiring were forecast to be similar for 2020, continuing a seven-year growth in jobs.

“As the industry has pivoted to meet the current challenges, the transformation to digital operations has accelerated,” said Daniel Dumbacher, executive director of AIAA. “Not only is this allowing engineering teams to work more collaboratively than ever before, it has accelerated the speed of innovation and new engineering design and production concepts.”

Scott Thompson, leader of PwC's US Aerospace and Defense practice, echoed Dumbacher’s point. “Transformation tends to speed up in times of crisis. Digital transformation was already in progress. However, because of the contraction in commercial aviation and social distancing in all aspects of manufacturing, transformation and automation are accelerating both on the factory floor and in the back office. The industry is working to preserve capability while reacting to market forces."

These are the salaries of Facebook employees in key roles in the US

Business Insider recently reported the salaries of employees in certain key roles who work for Facebook, USA. These salaries are mentioned in visa applications which later get revealed in public by the US government. All the companies have to mention base salary packages in these visa applications when a worker is selected or appointed for a job. However, this data does not show the employee’s stock shares in the company. Also, as mentioned before, this data is collected through the applications of employees that have been recruited from a foreign country through their government visa applications. The salary of a local employee is hard to determine anyway. But both foreign and local employees are supposed to be paid the same wages, so an estimated educational guess can help reviewers with salary figures of all employees.

In the department of Data and engineering at Facebook, a Data scientist’s salary ranges from $110,659 to $216,331, a Software engineer’s wages are from computer engineering vs computer science, Data engineer’s salary can be from $110,000 to $195,424, Research scientist’s salary is from $135,000 to $250,527, an Engineering manager gets $171,000 to $280,000, a Technical program manager’s salary can range from $111,636 to $225,000, Production engineer’s salary is $110,000 to $221,597, an Engineering Director’s salary can range from $284,200 to $345,221.

Actualising NEP 2020’s potential - Can technology make it happen?

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasises the importance of applied learning, multiple pathways to learning and resource sharing. In addition to this, there is an importance given to technology-enabled pedagogy from grade 6. There will be need for networked schools, vibrant communication flows and a reconsideration of the medium of instruction.

The National Education Policy 2020 has delivered a masterstroke in policy reform. It can lead Indians into a new reality in which employment opportunities will be aplenty. It aims to deliver on equity and inclusion, while emphasizing on conceptual understanding over rote learning and a personalised learning experience in contrast to a one-size-fits-all approach. It will now be up to the educational ecosystem to support it through to what to do with a computer science degree.

The vision of NEP 2020 has the potential to ensure that India turns out students of a higher quality, equipped to take on professions and start businesses almost as soon as they graduate. Internships beginning in standard 6, continuous assessment and complete freedom to design an educational path can eliminate restrictive practices of choosing a stream and then having to stick with it rather than change mid-stream and risk repeating years.
